What takes to be an IT Professional?

 Induction a new career, whether you’re just coming out of college or moving from another professional field, is intimidating in itself. Combine that with moving into the technology industry, where everything seems to change every day, and the career aspiration can be viewed as both challenging and exciting. The key to career success is finding your role and establishing career goals to strive for and accomplish.

To be an IT Professional you must consider the technical skills and the people skills;

There are many areas to consider when you’re entering the IT world:
Software applications- is a subclass of computer software that employs the capabilities of a computer directly and thoroughly to a task that the user wishes to perform.
Networking- in information technology, networking is the construction, design, and use of a network, including the physical (cabling, hub, bridge, switch, router, and so forth), the selection and use of telecommunication protocol and computer software for using and managing the network, and the establishment of operation policies and procedures related to the network.
Web development- is a broad term for the work involved in developing a web site for the Internet (World Wide Web) or an intranet (a private network).
Web design- is a broad term covering many different skills and disciplines that are used in the production and maintenance of websites.

A big part on how to become an IT professional is to have good people skills:
Understanding people.
Expressing your thoughts and feelings clearly.
Speaking up when your needs are not being met.
Asking for feedback from others and giving quality feedback in return.
Influencing how others think and act.
Bringing conflicts to the surface and getting them resolved.
Collaborating with others instead of doing things by yourself.
Shifting gears when relationships are unproductive.
